Teddy Bear
A stuffed toy bear for children. It is an enduring, traditional form of stuffed animal, often serving the purpose of comforting upset young children. In recent times, some teddy bears have become expensive collector's items. The world's first Teddy Bear Museum was set up in Petersfield, Hampshire, England, in 1984.

Paddington Bear
Paddington Bear is a fictional character in children's literature. He appears in some 14 books written by Michael Bond and illustrated by Peggy Fortnum and has evolved into a franchise.

Winnie the Pooh Bear
Winnie-the-Pooh named for Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is a fictional bear created by A. A. Milne. He appears in the books Winnie-the-Pooh (published October 14, 1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Milne also wrote two books of children's poetry, When We Were Very Young and Now We Are Six, which include several poems about Winnie-the-Pooh. All four volumes were illustrated by E. H. Shepard. The setting of the stories is based on the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, England. Winnie himself was based on the pet bear of a Canadian soldier

Teddy Ruxpin Bear
Teddy Ruxpin is an animatronic teddy bear invented by Ken Forsse, Larry Larsen and John Davies. He was first produced in 1985 by toy manufacturer Worlds Of Wonder. Teddy would move his mouth and eyes as he read stories via a standard audio tape deck built into his back. There was also a companion toy named Grubby which connected to Teddy via a cable and allowed the two to minimally interact. In addition to Grubby, there were several other non animatronic companion toys and characters, notably, the bird-like Fobs. The Fob toy was a hand puppet with a sock-like, extendable neck.

Mr. Bean's Bear
Teddie is Mr. Bean's teddy bear. He is Mr. Bean's life long best friend. Being inanimate, he is invaluable as a trusted conspirator, easy to beat at chess and doubles as a good dish cloth or paint brush in an emergency. Mr Bean's bear is dark brown, knitted oddity, with button eyes and sausage-shaped limbs. But he is a friend and that is important.

Garfield Bear
Garfield is a comic strip created by Jim Davis featuring the cat Garfield, the pet dog Odie, and their socially inept owner Jon Arbuckle. As of 2006, it is syndicated in roughly 2,570 newspapers and journals and it currently holds the Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely syndicated comic strip [1]. The popularity of the strip has led to a children's cartoon show, several television specials and a feature-length film, as well as a large amount of Garfield-related merchandise.

Barbie
Barbie, the world's most famous and best-selling doll, debuted at the American International Toy Fair on March 9, 1959. The doll is produced by Mattel, inc.
The highest-selling Barbie doll in Mattel's history, Totally Hair Barbie, was released in 1992. Totally Hair Barbie featured extra-long hair, which reached from her head down to her toes.

Ken Doll
Ken lesser known surname Carson is a toy doll in Mattel's Barbie line of fashion dolls.
Since 1961, this fictional character had been Barbie's boyfriend, however, Mattel announced their split on February 12, 2004.Ken's best friend, Allan Sherwood, was introduced in 1963. He has also been marketed as "Alan." Ken's African-American friend Brad also appeared in the 1960's.Ken featured straight arms and a head that could only turn left and right until the debut of Superstar Ken in 1977. Ken now featured a dazzling smile with dimples, a head that could swivel (perhaps to kiss Barbie?), bent arms, a more muscular physique, and jewelry. He has underwear permanently molded to his body.

Blythe Doll
Blythe is a doll created in 1972 by the now-defunct American toy company Kenner. Reportedly, she was modeled after drawings by Margaret Keane, similarly to many other dolls of the '60s and '70s. Her most unique and notable feature were blinkable eyes that changed color with the pull of a string attached to the back of her head. Blythe dolls were only sold for one year in the U.S. (produced in Hong Kong), during 1972. She was not very popular and faded from store shelves quickly.

Bobblehead Doll
A bobblehead doll, also known as a bobbing head doll or wobbler is a type of collectible doll. Its head is often oversized compared to its body. Instead of a solid connection, its head is connected to the body by a spring in such a way that a light tap will cause the head to bobble, hence the name.

Bratz Doll
Bratz is the name of a line of 9.5 inch dolls produced by MGA Entertainment, starting at the end of 2001. They are created in both sexes, "Bratz Boyz" having followed Bratz "girls" shortly after the girl dolls entered the toy market.

Cabbage Patch Kids Doll
The Cabbage Patch Kids were dolls produced from 1983-1989 by Coleco. They had large, round vinyl heads and soft fabric bodies. The gimmick of the dolls was their uniqueness. No two were exactly alike; each doll had a different eye color, facial features, hair, and outfit. The subtle differences were introduced with a computer for each run. Each came with a unique birth certificate signed by their creator, Xavier Roberts.

Bart Simpson Bear
Bartholomew Jo-Jo "Bart" Simpson (voiced by Nancy Cartwright) is a fictional character featured in the animated television series The Simpsons. He is the 10-year-old son of Homer and Marge Simpson and older brother of Lisa and Maggie.

Britney Spears Doll
The Britney Spears Doll is a doll made in the likeness of pop singer superstar Britney Spears. It is one of the most popular celebrities dolls made.

Christina Aguilera Doll
Was released in 2000 by Yaboom Toys. The doll featured the likeness of Christina Aguilera, with different outfits from her concerts, apperances, photoshoots, and music videos. Some dolls could "sing" when a button on their bellies was pressed. Yaboom planned "talking dolls", but they were never developed. The other dolls were standard fashion dolls (see Barbie doll) made with help from Play Along Toys. They became a hit during the 2000 holiday season. Later on, the line was promoted less often, and was eventually discontinued before Christina released her 2002 album Stripped, with its more adult content.

Spice Girls Dolls
In 1997, Galoob Toys released the Spice Girls Dolls based on the popular girl-group, the Spice Girls.
The dolls became a huge hit during the Christmas seasons of 1997 and 1998. Different sets of dolls were released. The most sought after line of all the dolls is the "Girl Power" set. When Geri Halliwell departed from the group in May of 1998, Galoob continued the line, but with only the four girls. Galoob was subsequently bought by Hasbro.

Chatty Cathy Doll
Chatty Cathy was a doll, produced by the Mattel corporation starting in 1959 and first advertised on television in 1960. Revolutionary for its time, the doll spoke 11 phrases; Chatty Cathy would "speak" when one pulled a string in her back. Seven more phrases were added in 1963, which was also the last year the first version of Chatty Cathies were sold.

Cindy Smart Doll
Cindy Smart is "the first doll in the world to be able to read, tell the time and do sums".
Created in 2003 by Bob Del Principe, Cindy Smart uses a camera on her overalls and a computer to read words (on a flashcard for instance). She can recognize "bad words" and will refuse to read them aloud.The doll is much more popular in Australia than in the United States.

Dollikins Doll
Also called Action Girl. Dollikins are toy dolls made by Uneeda. They originally came out as large Cissy-sized dolls. They were later made as 11" multi-jointed dolls in brightly-colored bodysuits with flowered sashes and plastic boots.
They were issued in England as Action Girl. These dolls were very similar to the US-issued dolls except that their eyes were side-glancing and their hair was different. The US dolls had a piece of hair on other side of the face pulled up into a bow on top of the head. The Action Girl dolls had straight hair with no bows. The Action Girl dolls also had their own line of clothing

Gigi Doll
Gigi is a 1945 novel by the French writer Colette about a wealthy cultured man of fashion who discovers that he is in love with a young Parisian girl who is being groomed for a career as a grande cocotte, and eventually marries her.

Jumeau Dolls
A century before Barbie was a household word the Bébé Jumeau formed the international benchmark for the highest quality and most desirable doll.
The Jumeau company first emerged as a partnership between Louis-Desire Belton and Pierre-Francois Jumeau in Paris, 1841. By 1845 Pierre Francois Jumeau was trading in his own right. Although the Jumeau firm rapidly won commendation, including medals at international exhibitions for the outstanding qualities of the dresses in which their dolls were presented, very few Jumeau dolls can be securely identified dating before the 1870s. In 1872 the company began to produce its own porcelain heads, which they also supplied to other dollmakers. By 1877 the first Bébés (or dolls in the image of a little girl) were produced. In 1878 the Jumeau company won the unprecedented honour of the Gold Medal at the Paris Exhibition.

Kewpie Doll
Kewpie dolls and figurines are based on illustrations by Rose O'Neill that appeared in Ladies' Home Journal in 1909. The small dolls were extremely popular in the early 1900s. They were first made out of bisque and then celluloid. In 1949, Effanbee created the first hard plastic versions.

Paper Doll
Paper dolls are cut-out figures with separate clothes usually held on with folding tabs. They have been inexpensive toys for children for almost 200 years. Today many artists have turned paper dolls into a true art form.
Paper dolls have been used for advertising, appeared in magazines and newspapers, and covered a variety of subjects. They have become highly sought after collectibles, and as the vintage ones become more scarce, there are many wonderful new examples being created by artists today.

Pinocchio Doll
The Adventures of Pinocchio is a story about an animated puppet, talking crickets, boys that turn into mules and other assorted fairy tale-like devices that would be familiar to a reader of Alice in Wonderland or Brothers Grimm—in fact earlier in his career Collodi worked on a translation of Mother Goose. However Pinocchio is not a traditional fairy-tale world, containing as it does the hard realities of the need for food, shelter and other basic measures of daily life, even the setting of the story is the very real Tuscan area of Italy. It was a unique literary melding of genres for its time.

Super Dollfie Doll
Super Dollfie is a ball-jointed doll (BJD) first manufactured by Volks, a Japanese doll company, in 1998. These dolls are anatomically correct, about 22 inches/57~60cm in height, strung together by thick elastic and are made of polyurethane resin. Super Dollfies (SD) are highly customizable - wigs, eyes, face paint, and even hands, feet, heads and other body parts may be changed, if desired.

Troll Doll
Troll is a fearsome member of a mythical anthropomorph race from Scandinavian folklore. Their role ranges from fiendish giants – similar to the ogres of English fairy tales – to a devious, more human-like folk of the wilderness, living underground in hills or mounds, inclined to thieving and the abduction of humans which, in the case of infant abductees, was substituted with a changeling. They could also be known as hill-folk or mound-folk. In Shetland and Orkney tales, trolls are called trowe.

Care Bear
The Care Bears are a set of characters created by American Greetings in 1981 for use on greeting cards. The original artwork for the cards was painted by artist Elena Kucharik. In 1983, Kenner took the characters and made the first in a line of very successful teddy bears based on the Care Bears. Over 40 million units were sold between 1983 and 1987.
