Spectrum Analyzer
A spectrum analyzer is a device used to examine the spectral composition of some electrical, acoustic, or optical waveform. Often, it measures the power spectrum.

Cable Connections
The rectifier output DC negative terminal is connected to the structure to be protected by the cathodic protection system. The rectifier output DC positive cable is connected to the auxiliary anodes. The AC power cables are connected to the rectifier input AC cable terminals.

Output Adjustment
The output of the rectifier is usually determined by a cathodic protection expert to optimize the level of protection on the target structure. Many rectifiers are designed with tap on the transformer windings and jumper terminals for connection of jumper bars. The jumper bars or tap bars are moved between taps to vary the voltage output of the rectifier unit.
Rectifiers for water tanks and used in other applications are made with solid state circuits to automatically adjust the operating voltage to maintain a target current output or structure-to-electrolyte potential.

Meters
Analog or digital meters are often installed to show the operating voltage (DC and sometime AC) and current output. Typically a shunt circuit composed of a calibrated resistor and voltmeter is used for current output measurement.

Automatic test equipment
is any automated device that is used to test printed circuit boards, integrated circuits, or any other related electronic components or modules. See also electronic test equipment.

Direct Cable Connection (DCC) DCC is a feature of Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, XP, and 2000 that allows a computer to transfer and share files (or connected printers) with another computer, via a connection using either the serial, parallel, infrared IrDA, or USB ports of each computer. It is well-suited for computers that do not have an ethernet adapter installed, although DCC in Windows XP can be configured to use one (with a proper crossover cable if no Ethernet hub is used) if available.

DUT Boards
Dut Boards are used in automated integrated circuit testing where the term DUT stands for Device Under Test, referring to the circuit being tested.
A DUT board is a printed circuit board, and is the interface between the integrated circuit and a test head, which in turn attaches to computerized test equipment. DUT boards are designed to meet both the mechanical and electrical requirements of the particular chip and the specific test equipment to be used. One type of DUT board is used in testing the individual chips of a silicon wafer before they are cut free and packaged, and another type is used for testing packaged IC's.

Anaesthetic Equipment
General anaesthesia requires the following basic equipment to be fully functional, the anaesthetic machine tested daily (it is imperative that essential medical pipeline gas supply eg. oxygen, nitrous oxide and air are secured firmly to the machine , readily available without any obstructions, defects or pressure leaks) and checked in-between cases (ensure the breathing apparatus and breathing circuit are fully patent) for the safe anaesthesia of patients:

Built-in Self-Test Mechanism
within an integrated circuit is a function which verifies all or a portion of the internal functionality of the IC. For example, a BIST mechanism is provided in advanced fieldbus systems to verify functionality; also, many PC BIOSes include a BIST to perform a self-test of the PC's RAM on power-up.The main purpose of BIST is to reduce the complexity, and thereby increase the cost and reduce the reliability, of external testers. Testing parts which require automated test equipment (ATE) — such as those made by Teradyne, Eagle, Advantest, et al — end up being a substantial (and growing) fraction of the cost of most modern ICs. Because of this, there is a heavy emphasis on Design For Test (DFT), a philosophy or technique of design that facilitates self-testing.

Pylon Test Facility Mannheim
A facility operated by ABB in Mannheim , Germany for the examination of the static characteristics of pylons. The plant existing since 1959 can be used for the examination from pylons to a hitting a corner handle distance of 18x18 meters. Pylons with hitting a corner handle distances of up to 12x12 meters can be examined with a torque by up to 40 MNm and with hitting a corner handle distances of up to 18x18 meters with one course moment by up to 125 NMm. The two test racks of the overhead line mast testing equipment Mannheim are 65 meters high and with 16 rope hoists equipped.

Digital Caliper
A caliper is a device used to measure the distance between two symmetrically opposing sides. A caliper can be as simple as a compass with inward or outward-facing points. The tips of the caliper are adjusted to fit across the points to be measured, the caliper is then removed and the distance read by measuring between the tips with a measuring tool, such as a ruler.

Pocket Ammeter
An ammeter is a measuring instrument used to measure the flow of electric current in a circuit. Electric currents are measured in amperes, hence the name. The word "ammeter" is commonly misspelled or mispronounced as "ampmeter" by some.

Oscilloscope
An oscilloscope (commonly abbreviated CRO or scope) is a piece of electronic test equipment that allows voltage levels and signals to be viewed by creating a visible two-dimensional graph of one or more electrical potential differences. The horizontal axis of the display normally represents time, making the instrument useful for displaying periodic signals. The vertical axis usually shows voltage.

Fluke
Manufacturer of electrical and electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.

Tektronix
Tektronix is a United States corporation that is currently a major presence in the test, measurement, and measuring industry. It manufacturers oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and both video and mobile test protocol equipment. Tektronix is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol TEK NYSE: TEK, the nickname by which Tektronix is known to its employees, customers, and neighbors.

Allen-Bradley
Allen-Bradley is a company that specializes in industrial control and automation products, such as programmable logic controllers. It is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is currently part of Rockwell Automation. The Allen-Bradley Clock Tower is a Milwaukee landmark that opened in 1962.

Network Analyzer
A network analyzer is an instrument used to analyze the properties of electrical networks, especially those properties associated with reflection and transmission of electrical signals known as s-parameters. Network analyzers are used mostly at high frequencies; a typical unit can make measurements from a few hundred kilohertz up to several gigahertz.

Circuit Breakers
A circuit breaker is an automatically-operated electrical switch which is designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overload or short circuit. Unlike a fuse which operates once and then has to be replaced, a circuit breaker can be reset (either manually or automatically) to resume normal operation. Circuit breakers are made in varying sizes, from small devices to protect an individual household appliance up to large switchgear intended to protect high voltage circuits feeding an entire city.

Robotics
